How does AutoSelectPro work?
AutoSelectPro brings together in one place the used cars that Belgian sellers offer on their own websites. We don’t sell cars ourselves: for questions, a test drive or the purchase, contact the seller.
On 20 October 2026, there are 13,838 cars in our listings.
Where do the listings come from?
Every car comes from a listing on a seller’s website. On the car page you’ll find the seller, their contact details when we have them, and a link to the original listing (“View at the dealer”, on the page: “Bekijk bij de dealer”). The seller’s listing remains the source: when in doubt, what the seller says applies.
How up to date are the listings?
We regularly check the listings again at the seller. Every car shows the date we last found the listing (“Last checked”, on the page: “Laatst gecontroleerd”).
- Only cars we have found at the seller in the last 14 days and that have a price appear in the search results.
- If we haven’t found a listing for more than 14 days, the page stays online with a notice that availability is not confirmed.
- After 30 days without confirmation, or when the listing has been closed, we show the car as no longer available and ask search engines to stop showing the page.
- We only call a car “sold” when the source explicitly says so. A listing that disappears is not automatically a sold car.
How do we show the data?
Sellers describe the same feature in different ways, in Dutch or French. We convert those descriptions into one value, shown in the language of the page: “Boîte automatique”, “Automatisch” and “Automaat” all become “Automatic”. A value we can’t interpret unambiguously is not shown, rather than guessed.
We add nothing that isn’t in the listing. We can’t always detect errors in the listing itself (a wrong mileage or price); the seller has the final say.
Price history
Every time we see a different asking price, we record it. The “Price reduced” label (“Prijs verlaagd” on the car page) means the latest price change was a drop. With a free account you can see the full price history on the car page since we first saw the car: earlier prices, and the amount and date of every change.
“Days on AutoSelectPro” (“Dagen op AutoSelectPro”) counts from the day we first found the listing. The seller may have been offering the car for longer.
How do we assess prices?
We compare the asking price with comparable cars at our dealers. Every assessment shows what we compare with, how many cars that is and how widely the prices vary, so you can check it yourself.
Estimated market price
For each model, we estimate how the asking price depends on age, mileage, power, fuel, gearbox and equipment. To do so, we use the cars of that model currently for sale and those sold in recent months, giving more weight to recent prices. Outliers barely count. If there are too few cars of a model, we use the whole model range. Prices excluding VAT are converted to prices including 21% VAT for the comparison. New and demo cars (under 100 km) are only compared with each other.
On the car page we show the estimated market price, the range such a car usually falls within, and the most comparable cars the estimate is based on. The label follows the same limits as below, measured against the estimated market price. We only show a label when the estimate is reliable enough. If the asking price is more than 25% below the estimated market price, we show no label: such a price more often points to a different version or an error in the listing than to a bargain.
No reliable estimate? Then we compare like this
- same make and model;
- same fuel;
- year of first registration at most 1 year apart;
- mileage at most 30% higher or lower;
- currently for sale on AutoSelectPro (found in the last 14 days), not counting the car itself.
How is the label determined?
We calculate the median of the asking prices in that group: half of the cars are cheaper, half more expensive. We only show a label if the group has at least 5 cars. The label depends on how far the asking price deviates from that median:
| Label | Deviation from the estimated market price (or the median) |
|---|---|
| Very good price (Zeer goede prijs) | −10% or lower |
| Good price (Goede prijs) | more than −10% up to and including −4% |
| Fair market price (Marktconforme prijs) | more than −4% and less than +10% |
| High price (Hoge prijs) | +10% or higher |
Too few comparable cars?
If there are fewer than 5, we give no verdict. If our listings contain at least 3 other cars of the same model and fuel, we only show how many there are, their registration years and their price range, without a median or label: those cars differ too much in age and mileage to base a verdict on.
What does the assessment not take into account?
- trim and engine version (only via the power);
- options beyond the equipment we recognise (including adaptive cruise control, camera, navigation, LED);
- condition, maintenance and warranty;
- whether the VAT is deductible for a company;
- prices outside our listings.
The assessment is therefore a comparison with our current listings, not a valuation and not purchase advice. At the seller, the price in their own listing applies. We only assess cars that are currently for sale.
